Elect Terry Paul to Labour's NEC

I am standing to represent the grassroots of our party, our CLPs. I want to ensure they have the campaigning support that will allow us to bring Labour's message to every voter in the country, so that we can defeat the Tories and install Keir Starmer as our Prime Minister.

I was born into a working-class family in East London. My mother was an NHS nurse and my stepfather worked at Fords of Dagenham. Their support ensured I was the first in my family to go to university.

I joined the party in 1994; since then I have been a CLP Chair and worked for the party as a campaign organiser. Since 2010 I have been a councillor in Newham and have seen the transformative power that Labour can have in local government.

The Black Lives Matter movement has started a conversation in every part of our society, including Labour.

We now need action to ensure our party fully represents the country we want to govern. It is vital that BAME voices are heard in every conversation, every meeting and every election within the party.

I am standing to represent the grassroots

Let's take Labour's message to every voter

I am standing to be the first Black man on the NEC to represent the grassroots of the Labour Party, our CLPs and ensure we build the campaigning and policy platform needed to defeat the Tories and transform our nation.

I joined the Labour party in 1994 and have always championed the rights of members and I love campaigning.

In 1997, I was a CLP General Election Volunteer Coordinator in Southampton helping to elect 2 Labour MPs, and I have campaigned in General, European, Mayoral local and numerous by-elections across England, Scotland and Wales.

I have been a lay workplace union rep, representing workers involved in wage negotiations and workplace disputes.

I've also served as an Army reservist whilst at university. In 2010, I was elected as a London Borough of Newham Councillor.

As Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services, I have established a reputation for helping to transform Newham Council.

Additionally, I like to give back and have been integral to the governing bodies of two OFSTED outstanding schools.
